There will be a transition period of a few months during which old 0install-based Displa圜AL versions will continue to run, but afterwards the respective online infrastructure will be has much to do with spectrometers vs calorimeters. Linux users should switch to a standalone package at their earliest convenience. Windows and macOS users will be updated automatically to the standalone version. While the 0install version of Displa圜AL (which was originally introduced as a replacement for the long-defunct Autopackage system under Linux) has had its uses, the low distribution (around 6%) of 0install versus the standalone version does no longer warrant the additional time and work needed to maintain this separate deployment path.Ġinstall support is thus being phased out starting with Displa圜AL 3.7.2 and following releases, which are only available as “standalone” installations. Linux: Try to work around sporadic colord profile installation quirks (“The profile was not added in time”). spacing around windows, popup menu placement). Linux: Add work-arounds for various Wayland-related wxPython rendering quirks and bugs (e.g. macOS (standalone application bundle): Splash screen did not animate. Various minor potential rendering glitches. Correctly update the audio button state on progress dialogs when changed on a previous window. More gracefully deal with faulty tags in ICC profiles (fixes ICC profile information unhandled exception for colord-created profiles with malformed targ tags). Quick reporting on calibrated or uncalibrated display did not try to detect output levels if set to “Auto”. APL calculation for Prisma and Resolve pattern generators was off by a few percent depending on pattern area and current pattern color. Include Quantum Dot LED (Samsung QLED Q9F) spectral sample colorimeter correction when importing for i1 Display Pro and ColorMunki Display (sourced from community colorimeter corrections database). If the currently used ArgyllCMS version is not a standard version, but also not a beta, do not offer to switch to an installed official stable version if it's otherwise the same version number. Support for other desktop environments will need to be implemented separately until Wayland gains a color management and calibration/profiling protocol. Only tested under GNOME 3 (Fedora 30, Ubuntu 19.04). effectively no color management, as well as linear video card gamma tables).Īpplication support for color management under Wayland via colord still seems to lacking (although the list may well be out-of-date). The measurement window may be subject to desktop-wide color management in upcoming versions of Wayland (although the display device is inhibited during measurements via the D-Bus API which should prevent this, and as a fallback a linear calibration sRGB profile is temporarily installed during measurements if the D-BUs API is unavailable, which should result in an identity transform, i.e. The measurement window color depth is limited to 8 bits per channel per pixel (but dithering is used to achieve a higher effective color depth). Some functions like viewing current videoLUT contents may not be available. Video card gamma table (videoLUT) access is handled by colord. Extra care needs to be taken that other windows are not placed on top. As a result of this, the measurement window cannot stay always on top or be automatically centered. There is generally no way for an application to place its own windows at specific relative locations or z-orders. Window placement and ordering is completely up to the compositor under Wayland. Hello ! for all who hardware calibrate their screen or want to … from the official changelog - Īdded in this release: > Linux: Preliminary experimental Wayland support under GNOME 3 using colord (requires ArgyllCMS 2.1 or newer as well). Zeke Banks (Chris Rock) is a reckless undercover cop. Bring back Billy! 3.5/10, generously rounded up to 4 for the finger-trap, which is undeniably nasty. Lastly, what's up with the killer's puppet: not only does it look stupid, but it's got a really daft voice as well. what's a few deep flesh-wounds to a tough guy like Zeke? The ill-considered script also holds very few surprises regarding the identity of the killer: as soon as Detective William Schenk was declared dead without showing how he was killed or why he was chosen, I knew I had my man. Secondly, that bin ain't protecting him - there's glass flying everywhere, but that's okay. Firstly, picking a lock is not that simple - it can be done, but takes practice and time. And I gotta love the following scene for all the wrong reasons: Zeke picks the lock on his handcuffs using a hair pin and then protects himself from high velocity shards of glass using a dustbin. It pumps boiling wax onto the victims face, thus requiring a power supply and some heavy duty equipment, yet is installed without a hitch, no-one interrupting the (presumably noisy) work, and with no-body questioning the presence of such a device. Did no-one making this film question the logic of installing a complex mechanical device above an operational railway line? How long would the device have taken to assemble? Did no trains pass by on those days? Was the third rail electrified the whole time? It's just plain dumb.but not as dumb as the trap that the maniac somehow manages to assemble in a police evidence room. In the opening scene, the trap is situated above a subway line, the victim given the option of losing his tongue or losing his life. Banks is sent parcels in the post by the new killer, leading him from one gruesome discovery to another. Rock, dreadfully mis-cast, plays Detective Zeke Banks, who is the focus of a campaign of terror by a serial killer who seems to be emulating the infamous John Kramer AKA Jigsaw, only this time the victims are corrupt cops (how topical). It's quite apt that the the star of Spiral, the latest chapter in the 'Book of Saw', is stand-up comedian Chris Rock, because the film is a joke. 8/23/2023 0 Comments Fm22 mobile tips and tricksThe role playing element in the game is real for many. Other subtle upgrades to the design include a slightly beveled magazine well, an extended safety and new “tactical rack” sights that offer both an improved sight picture and a faster way to charge the gun. That’s two more rounds of 9mm than what the original revolutionary Hi-Power mag held, but the SA-35 is still compatible with original 13-rounders too. Speaking of the magazine, the SA-35 includes a single flush-fitting 15-round mag. Originally included to prevent conscripts from injuring themselves while cleaning their guns, omitting this device enables the SA-35 to have a better trigger, faster reloads and a gun that can still go bang if the magazine gets lost. An otherwise wonderful pistol, Hi-Powers always suffered from less-than-ideal triggers and an inability to freely drop magazines, both things that are remedied by the removal of the disconnect safety. All parts are now also heat-treated using modern techniques, meaning the SA-35 should be more resilient than any previous iterations of the design.Īnother significant departure from the original P-35 is the lack of a magazine disconnect safety, something which should be appreciated by most fans of the design. This gives the gun extremely tight tolerances and should contribute to its already excellent accuracy provided by the cold hammer-forged barrel. The first modern improvements found on the SA-35 start during the manufacturing process, where they are built using precision CNC machined, forged steel components. The SA-35 is the first American-made Hi-Power, so it's only natural that it would be the best one. While they mostly stayed true to the original, Springfield has also included some modern improvements and upgrades on the SA-35. Most of the details on the SA-35 are true to the original as well, including its single-action trigger, 9mm chambering and the “no-bite” rounded military-style hammer. Sporting checkered walnut grips and a matte blued finish, Springfield’s new Hi-Power harkens back to the era of the man who designed it. Even most 1911s sold these days are more “tactical” than classic, but Springfield decided to stick to the BHP’s roots when they designed the SA-35. In a world of black plastic guns, it's refreshing to see some new wood and steel for sale. Now, thanks to Springfield Armory, there’s a new Hi-Power option on the table-the SA-35. New models have unfortunately been missing from the American market for several years, and those in search of a Hi-Power have been stuck considering expensive original models, beat-up surplus or foreign-made clones of questionable quality. While it never achieved the popularity stateside that it did elsewhere, since its release pistol cognoscenti have recognized its qualities and the role that it played in modern handgun development. The Hi-Power, or P-35, is one of the world’s most iconic handguns. Springfield Armory has brought JMB’s iconic 9mm Hi-Power pistol back with their new SA-35, featuring some subtle improvements over the original design. 8/23/2023 0 Comments Nyc congestion tollThe tolling plan - which would be the first of its kind in the country - would charge vehicles up to $23 a day in an effort to reduce the number of cars, trucks, vans and buses entering Manhattan by 15% to 20%, according to a study released last August that outlined several tolling scenarios. Members and sponsors make THE CITY possible. It’s a significant milestone for the long-stalled plan to toll vehicles south of 60th Street in Manhattan in order to raise billions of dollars for the transit system, to be spent on new subway cars and signals, accessibility upgrades, electric buses and expansion of the Second Avenue Subway. “But traffic, air quality, health, safer streets, better transit - that’s what’s in this for New Yorkers and for the whole region.” “I know that some people will use words like ‘cash grab,’” MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber said on Thursday ahead of the document’s release. The assessment also comes with a draft “Finding of No Significant Impact” (FONSI) by the Federal Highway Administration, which means the officials don’t believe negative impacts of the changes will outweigh positive benefits. The latest “environmental assessment” report from the MTA and state and city transportation departments nails down key details on how the plan will work, including: a once-per-day cap on charges for taxis and for-hire vehicles a 50% toll reduction in the wee hours of the morning funding for diesel-to-electric truck conversions, and even local park renovations. Now, the decades-long call for so-called congestion pricing is closer than ever to becoming a reality after the release Friday of a key document, thousands of pages long, that starts a 30-day clock for federal officials to make their final call on the tolling idea. One estimate said a congestion pricing plan with an $11.52 toll could reduce traffic by 13 percent and raise gross revenues of $1.1 billion per year, much of which would go to support trains and buses after expenses.New York leaders have long flirted with the idea of tolling vehicle traffic into Manhattan’s central core as a way of raising billions for mass transit improvements. Singapore’s system has been around since the 1970s.Ībout 717,000 vehicles a day enter the Manhattan zone considered for the program, a recent city study said. In Stockholm, a pilot program that was put in place with less-than-enthusiastic public support in 2006 became much more popular as people saw immediate drops in congestion and air pollution, so much so that residents voted to make it permanent in 2007. As a result, the city is lifting the exemption starting April 8. Officials say that was due in large part to the flood of app-based for-hire vehicles like Uber, which were initially exempt from the tolls. In recent years, however, congestion has dramatically worsened, despite the fee rising to 11.50 pounds, about $15, per day. In its first year, congestion dropped 30%, buses got 6% faster and there was a 12% reduction in emissions. The toll initially had a considerable effect. Initially, London charged drivers 5 pounds, or about $6.50, to come into the central part of the city during the workweek. One model for the system has existed since 2003 in London, which offers evidence that the system could work - and a cautionary note for how it may need to adapt over time. The earliest the tolls could begin is Dec. That could include discounts for motorists already paying a toll enter Manhattan. New York state legislators approved a conceptual plan Monday for the tolling system, which would supplement an existing network of bridge and tunnel tolls that charge $9.50 to $15 for vehicles coming into Manhattan via seven of the 20 bridges and tunnels leading onto the island.Ī panel will now be convened to set the toll prices - one recent proposal suggested around $12 for passenger vehicles - and create possible exemptions or credits for some drivers. for the mass transit ridership and for New York’s capacity to respond to the crisis of its mass transit system,” he said. Primarily, he said, the system is likely to benefit the public transportation system, which now has a new source of revenue for much-needed repairs and upgrades. |
